Episode Details

Donna Adelson had no direct connection to the men who murdered her former son-in-law, Dan Markel. What investigators found instead was a trail of phone calls, suspicious payments, family interference, handwritten scripts, and a 2014 day planner containing the license plate number of Dan’s car.

In this episode, we examine the Adelson family’s enmeshed dynamics, the custody dispute that prosecutors said created the motive, and how investigators spent 11 years climbing from the gunmen to the woman accused of helping set everything in motion.

This is the story of Donna Adelson, the family she spent a lifetime building, and what happened when protecting that family became indistinguishable from controlling it.
