A Reflection for When We Don’t Need To Get Even Anymore

When people have done us wrong, we sometimes want to pay them back, make them feel the pain we felt.

Joseph had a lot of people he could have paid back, especially his brothers who had sold him into slavery.

But Joseph didn’t waste his energy plotting his revenge. He instead focused his gifts and talents on making the most of whatever opportunity was before him.

Eventually, Joseph rose to become the second most powerful person in Egypt. (Genesis 45:8) He didn’t need his get back anymore. God had given him so much more.
