Bruce Feldman's 2026 Freaks List at The Athletic ran 101 names. Ole Miss landed one: wide receiver Deuce Alexander at No. 49. Nyck Harbor of South Carolina topped the list for the third time in four years, and the SEC accounted for 22 of the inclusions.
Alexander is 6-0, 180, a senior from Douglasville, Georgia by way of Wake Forest, and a former 200- and 400-meter high school track athlete. He has been clocked at over 23 mph on GPS — the fastest player on the Ole Miss roster.

The counterweight on the ranking itself: the Freaks List is a traits list built from strength-staff nominations, not a production ranking, so it leans on which programs push their players forward. Making it at all is real, and No. 49 out of every roster in America is real.
The harder half of this is internal. Alexander touched the ball 63 times last season — 44 catches for 684 yards and two touchdowns, plus 19 carries for 122 yards. He said this week that the new staff "plans to use me all over the field. Last year, I felt like I was mostly playing on the outside." John David Baker's stated approach: "How many times can I figure out a way to get Deuce in a one-on-one and let him just go run fast?"
The fair defense of last season: Alexander was a first-year transfer behind Trey Wallace and De'Zhaun Stribling, who combined for 1,745 yards and 10 touchdowns. There were only so many footballs. All of that production is now gone, along with slot fixture Cayden Lee, who transferred to Missouri.
