Episode Details

In 1938, Earl Carl Harris believed a $15 bottle of High John the Conqueror elixir could perform two miracles: force a woman to love him and make him invisible to the police. But when the love potion failed on his landlady, Christina Eastmond, Harris brutally murdered her—only to casually remark "I guess it didn't work" when detectives tracked him down in Ontario weeks later. Host Allen Sircy untangles the horrifying true crime story of Michigan's "Voodoo Slayer," exploring how a serial murderer responsible for five deaths across two states attempted to hide his violent rage behind magical promises, bad folk medicine, and absolute denial. This is one the wildest true crime stories we have ever covered.
