Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukrainian intelligence has obtained internal Russian documents confirming that the Kremlin is preparing another major mobilization immediately after Russia’s September parliamentary elections. According to Zelensky, Putin plans to mobilize several hundred thousand additional Russians before the end of 2026—and potentially a similar number next year—on top of Russia’s ongoing contract recruitment.

This comes as Russia expands missile and drone production, prepares faster turbojet-powered Geran drones, and receives additional military support from North Korea. Meanwhile, Ukraine and its European allies are struggling to secure enough Patriot interceptors before another winter of Russian missile attacks. Putin appears to be preparing more soldiers, more missiles, and greater pressure—not peace.
