Description

Nanaimo RCMP flew their helicopter, Air 8, over local roads this past Sunday to crack down on dangerous drivers — and they didn’t hold back. Officers spotted 46 traffic violations, issuing 33 tickets, mostly to motorcyclists for speeding and stunts, plus one impaired driver. Eight warnings were also handed out, including five for excessive speeding and ten for regular speeding. Ten drivers were ticketed for no insurance, and four vehicles were impounded. Inspector Donovan Tait says they’ll keep using every tool available to keep roads safe — and urges the public to report risky driving via their non-emergency line when it’s safe to do so.
