When Do We Fall Back This Year | Cleveland News
Description
This year, daylight saving time ends early—November 1st—and with it, we lose that extra hour. Since the Energy Policy Act of 2005, DST has followed a March start and November end, but the push for permanent DST is gaining steam. The Sunshine Protection Act has passed the House, letting states opt into year-round DST—if Congress lifts the federal block from the 1966 Uniform Time Act. Currently, 19 states are ready to make the switch, but without federal approval, they can’t. So while we fall back sooner this year, the debate over ditching time changes entirely rages on in Washington.
