Aidan Donoghue: Victoria University Student Association president on ACT proposing an opt-in model for student service fees
Published 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Description
There's pushback on an ACT election pledge to cut student association fees.
ACT says the fees should be voluntary, which could save students up to $4,000 over a degree.
Victoria University's Student Association President, Aidan Donoghue, says it's unclear how this proposed policy would benefit students.
"If they had their way, you'd pay more to get less, right? A lot of this is about subsidizing not only things that I don't use, but to bring down costs for everybody at economies of scale."
