Jake McCarthy did everything he could to put the Colorado Rockies on his back this weekend in St. Louis. Unfortunately, the pitching did not do its part, a tale as old as time. How many players have recorded four hits with two home runs, three RBI, four runs scored and two stolen bases? (Even fewer than you'd think.) Surely it was a great thing to not trade him, right?
Zac Veen has done everything possible to get the attention of the Rockies front office and big league coaching staff. Some of that attention has not been good. What did the 24-year-old do to put himself in a league with only Nick Kurtz and Shohei Ohtani? Will Colorado finally give him a chance in the Majors?
