Citrus Part Two

Season 5 Published 1Β month ago
Description

This week we finish our discussion about the domesticate varieties of Citrus and their hybrids. Including etymology, origins, and uses.

There are three important notes for this week's episode! First during the etymology section there is discussion regarding the etymology of one of the names of a specific type of lime that in some places has very complicated connotations so if you are offended by or have difficulties with strong language be warned. Second, when discussing Persian limes around the 15 minute mark I misspoke when I said they were not widely grown. I should have said that they didn't become widely grown outside of Persia until much later than Key or Mexican limes. Finally I mixed up lemons and limes several times this episode but you can probably figure out which I meant via context clues.
