Episode Details

A sixteen year old honor student, newly arrived from the Virgin Islands and chasing a future in medicine, is abducted from her Texas apartment when four men seeking her brothers over a botched drug deal find her home alone instead. What follows is a harrowing four and a half day search built on painstaking forensic work, from glass fragments to a single palm print, that ultimately uncovers her murder and convicts her captors. The piece traces the case's long legal aftermath, including a landmark death sentence and a still unresolved resentencing, while reflecting on the randomness of violence and the fragility of innocence.
