On July 14, 2024, sixteen-year-old Mia Campos left her family’s Loganville, Georgia home late at night and never returned. When she stopped answering calls, her parents used a phone-tracking app and found her body in a wooded area less than a mile away. Mia was heavily pregnant with a baby boy she had already named Sebastian. Investigators later determined that she died from asphyxia caused by neck compression.

Police arrested Jesus Monroy, the 20-year-old man identified by Mia’s family as the father of her unborn child. Prosecutors allege he lured Mia from her home before killing her and moving her body.
