Then, The Chase and Sanborn Hour hosted by Don Ameche, originally broadcast August 8, 1937, 89 years ago, with guest Wendy Barrie.  Nelson Eddy makes his first appearance on the show in this classic broadcast. Detective Charlie McCarthy has already managed to wreck Edgar Bergen's brand-new car, setting up plenty of laughs. Actress Wendy Barrie stars in John Kirkpatrick's comedy sketch, A Wedding, while W. C. Fields recounts the misadventures of his latest yacht race before trading witty barbs with Barrie.

Followed by Theater of Romance hosted by Arnold Moss, originally broadcast August 8, 1944, 82 years ago, Lady Hamilton starring Gertrude Warner and Peter Donald.  The love story of the aristocratic woman and the famous Admiral Nelson, despite his wife and her husband.

Then, X Minus One, originally broadcast  August 8, 1957, 69 years ago, Scapegoat. The story of an obnoxious visitor from another world.  

Finally, Lum and Abner, originally broadcast August 8, 1935, 91 years ago, Tired of High Society.   Cedric has heard some disturbing things about Squire Skimp's mine. Mr. Worthington was driving a car with stolen license plates. Abner has lost all his money at the racetrack and is "shut of being a playboy."
