How a 1980s proposed pumping station could have prevented floods in Pierrefonds

Description

A group of Pierrefonds residents found records showing that Fleming Street, the road they live on, has had flooding issues dating back to the 1970s. According to their research, the city has known for decades that the sector's sanitary sewer cannot handle intense rainfall. A pumping station proposed in the early 1980s could have saved residents millions of dollars and a lot of grief if it had been built back then. Galia Desautels spoke to Andrew Carter.
