A 61-year-old man was repeatedly stabbed in his Marrickville unit after confronting an intruder climbing through his window during an attempted robbery. The victim, who had only moved into the property a week earlier, sustained multiple stab wounds to his torso and arms and remains in serious condition in hospital. Police arrested a 34-year-old man just hours later when he walked into their search area carrying a knife and items allegedly stolen from the home.
