New Study Highlights Unseen Mental Health Pressures Of Farm Families
Published 2 days ago
Description
A new study has highlighted the often unseen mental health pressures experienced by members of farm families across Ireland.
The Farm FaMHealth project, led by Dublin City University, found that spouses, parents and children can experience similar challenges to primary farmers, while many delay seeking support until they reach a crisis point.
The research has now led to a new preventative programme aimed at helping farm families recognise stress, support each other and seek help earlier.
Joining Alan Morrissey was Kilmaley native Dr Sinéad O’Keeffe, a researcher with the Farm FaMHealth study, who is also hosting a free local training session in Clare next week.
