The War Against Christ’s Kingdom

Season 1 Episode 186 Published 1 month ago
Description

In “The War Against Christ’s Kingdom,” Rushdoony warns that a coordinated, incremental assault on Biblical Christianity is underway through regulation, licensure, taxation, and “public policy,” aiming to subordinate the church, family, and Christian education to a humanistic, statist order. By reclassifying churches as charitable trusts and narrowing religious freedom to mere liturgy, the state seeks to silence the church’s prophetic role and assert sovereignty that belongs to Christ alone. This conflict is fundamentally religious, not merely legal or political, centered on lordship: Christ or the state. Rushdoony argues that state claims to control, license, or redefine the church mirror ancient Baalism and modern totalitarianism, demanding surrender disguised as neutrality or tolerance. Silence, he insists, is apostasy; resistance is covenant faithfulness. The issue before the church is unavoidable confess Christ as Lord over all of life or concede His crown to Caesar.
