TimescaleDB 2.28 focuses on making large-scale time-series analytics faster and easier to operate. Continuous aggregates now support in-place schema changes, fine-grained locking, incremental refresh batching, and direct ANALYZE and VACUUM. Queries on compressed data also get faster through metadata-driven first() and last(), vectorized CASE expressions, and improved batch sorting. PostgreSQL 15 support ends with 2.28, so users should plan upgrades to PostgreSQL 16, 17, or 18.
