Several respected polls, Quinnipiac and AP among them, now put Trump's approval rating in the low thirties, with one at 30 percent. Some of those figures sit below where he was after January 6th. He is an anchor on Republican candidates while endorsing people like Ken Paxton.

Shawn Ryan and Megyn Kelly have both gone public with their disillusionment over the second term, the self enrichment, the Epstein files, Todd Blanche, Pam Bondi, and the economy. Hawk raises the obvious question about whether that shift is sincere or audience management, and points to how little of it reaches right wing media consumers.

There is also the simplest explanation for why Trump wants Republicans to hold the House and Senate. Not legislation. He does not want to be impeached a third time, and he has no intention of complying with Democratic subpoenas either way.
