Golfers often say modern equipment is maxed out. New drivers aren’t really longer, annual releases are mostly marketing, and the gains are too small to matter. 

Then many of those same golfers argue that equipment has become too powerful at the professional level. That contradiction drives the newest episode of Splitting Fairways. 

Episode 7 asks whether golf equipment has actually peaked, or whether improvement has simply moved into areas that aren’t obvious on one perfect strike.

Both Ryan and Jeremy agree that modern equipment is still improving. The disagreement is more about how golfers define “better.”
