In October 2020, Taylor Parker murdered 21-year-old Reagan Simmons-Hancock, who was 35 weeks pregnant, and removed her unborn daughter, Braxlynn, in an attempt to continue an elaborate fake pregnancy. Parker had spent months deceiving her boyfriend, family, and community with a prosthetic stomach, fabricated medical appointments, staged ultrasounds, and a gender-reveal celebration. A Texas jury convicted her of capital murder in 2022 and sentenced her to death. Her conviction and sentence were upheld by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in November 2025.
