The Top Scientist Accused of Killing His Nephew Outside Court.. CHENGHAI XUE and CONG WANG
Description
On April 7, 2022, biotechnology entrepreneur and former Harvard postdoctoral researcher Chenghai Xue attended a Massachusetts court hearing seeking to extend a restraining order against his 23-year-old nephew, Cong Wang. Court records showed that Wang had previously been romantically involved with Xue’s former wife and had allegedly threatened the family after the relationship ended. When the judge declined to extend the order, prosecutors say Xue drove his SUV into Wang in the courthouse parking lot before getting out and shooting him multiple times.
In this episode of You Can’t Unhear, we examine the verified history behind the family conflict, the disturbing text messages cited in court records, the restraining-order decision, and the shooting that occurred minutes later. Xue pleaded not guilty and was held without bail. Many additional claims circulating online about the family, immigration motives, and Xue’s scientific importance remain unverified and should not be treated as established fact.
