Remarks by Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Alvin Botes during a private sector ministerial luncheon hosted by Senator the Honourable Aubyn Hill, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce of Jamaica held at the AC Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica. 05/08/2026 The engagement brought together key stakeholders from the private sector and provided an opportunity to explore avenues for strengthening trade, investment and economic cooperation between South Africa and Jamaica. Discussions highlighted the importance of creating stronger connections between businesses, identifying areas of mutual opportunity and translating the longstanding political relationship between the two countries into greater commercial and economic partnerships. The engagement forms part of South Africa’s broader efforts to deepen economic diplomacy and strengthen Africa–Caribbean cooperation.
