Description
Lightning Minerals Ltd managing director Troy Brice talked with Proactive about the company’s exploration progress during the June quarter following a strategic reset focused on gold and critical minerals.
Brice said Lightning Minerals had completed four field programs across its Australian portfolio, supported by technical work including petrology, geochemistry and geophysics. He said the company’s field and technical teams had worked productively to strengthen the geological models for both the Mt Turner Gold Project and the Warby Tungsten Project in northern Queensland.
At Mt Turner, Lightning Minerals is preparing to begin Phase 2 drilling targeting gold and copper mineralisation.
The company also continued exploration at Warby, where it is assessing a tungsten opportunity near Mount Surprise. Brice highlighted the logistical benefits of operating both projects from Georgetown, allowing Lightning Minerals to undertake concurrent exploration programs across two commodities.
Lightning Minerals also completed a strongly supported A$1.85 million capital raising and progressed the planned divestment of its Canadian and Brazilian lithium assets. During the September quarter, the company expects to advance geophysical work at Warby, progress drilling at Mt Turner and receive assay results from its exploration programs.
