Episode Details

FBI profiler John Douglas is called into Buffalo to analyze a string of racially targeted murders, distinguishing a blitz style ".22 caliber killer" from a separate, more personal offender behind two brutal cabbie slayings. Working purely from behavioral patterns and crime scene signatures, he builds a psychological portrait despite the era's skepticism toward profiling as a legitimate investigative tool. The case illustrates how signature analysis can reveal multiple offenders hidden within what first appeared to be a single killing spree.
