Episode Details

LSU’s first punch against Clemson may not come through the air. It may come from the ground game.

Morgan Thomas breaks down why Lane Kiffin and LSU could lean on the run game early in the season opener to protect Sam Leavitt, create second-and-manageable situations, and set up RPOs and play-action. With backs like Caden Durham, Harlem Berry, and Dilin Jones, LSU has the depth to test Clemson’s front right away.

For Clemson, the question starts up front. Sammy Brown is the heartbeat of the defense, but he cannot be asked to clean up everything by himself. Vic Burley, Amare Adams, Markus Strong, Andy Burburija, and the rest of Clemson’s defensive tackle rotation have to hold the point of attack, keep Brown clean, and prevent LSU from living in second-and-short.
