Description

This Thursday, 14- to 18-year-old entrepreneurs from Chicago’s South and West sides will compete in Pitch Black 2026, a high-stakes competition run by the Black-led nonprofit Gray Matter Experience. After six weeks of intensive training in business planning, market research, and financials, these teens are ready to pitch social impact ventures for a total of $16,500 in prizes — with last year’s winner, BabelBridge, returning as a judge. Since 2016, Gray Matter has empowered over 2,700 young people through free programs, turning passion into purpose and building a stronger Black entrepreneurial ecosystem one bold idea at a time.
