Episode Details

The detail almost everyone skipped: Slipknot were planning to announce Sid Wilson's departure themselves this week, and lost control of it when the story broke early. Scott Penfold explains why that one line makes four days of cryptic posts and total silence suddenly make sense — and why the two Sid Wilson stories that broke over the same weekend are separate, no matter what the internet has already decided.

Plus: the V/H/S horror anthology returns with V/H/S/MIXTAPE, a music-driven installment landing October 9 on Shudder. Ghost frontman Tobias Forge directed a music video for it, GWAR appear, and RZA, Ernest Dickerson, David Moreau and Renee Zhan also direct, with interludes from Flying Lotus.

And former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes has gone public about a prostate cancer diagnosis and the administrative error that's left him twenty thousand euros in medical debt in France. He says it's curable. He's three weeks into radiotherapy with five to go. It lands days after Blackie Lawless spoke about him on the Loaded Radio Podcast — calling him an incredible performer and acknowledging the chemistry they had in the early days of W.A.S.P.
