Sometimes we can’t stop people from heading in the wrong direction.
Joseph was his father’s favorite. He got more than his brothers, and seemed pretty arrogant too.
His brothers allowed the unfairness to make them bitter, to make them hate. They planned to take Joseph’s life.
But one brother spoke up.
“Shed no blood; throw him into this pit here in the wilderness, but lay no hand on him.” — from Genesis 37:22
He planned to come back and rescue Joseph. He couldn’t persuade his brothers to love Joseph, but he was able to keep them from killing him.
Sometimes we can’t make things right. But we can often make things better.
