Lance J. Dorrel is a historian, ethnographer, and author from Missouri whose work bridges Native American history, oral tradition, and unexplained phenomena. For more than two decades, he has researched the Battle of the Little Bighorn, traveling throughout the American West to build lasting relationships with Cheyenne, Lakota, Crow, Arapaho, and First Nations communities.
Rather than relying solely on written historical records, Lance has spent years listening to the oral histories preserved by Indigenous elders and comparing those accounts with conventional historical sources. His research has uncovered perspectives and details often overlooked, offering a richer understanding of one of America's most debated historical events.

Lance is the author of A Dance With Death: An Irish Soldier of Fortune at the Little Bighorn and co-author, with Donovan Taylor, of The History They Tell, which preserves Native American and First Nations oral traditions surrounding the Battle of the Little Bighorn. beyond history, Lance has also investigated Indigenous accounts of Star People, mysterious beings, supernatural encounters, and other unexplained phenomena that have been passed down through generations. His work offers a fascinating look at the intersection of history, culture, folklore, and the enduring mysteries that continue to captivate researchers of the paranormal.
