Flexson’s In-Ceiling Sonos Mount Simplifies Retrofit Audio
Description
Sonos clients want the app, the multiroom convenience, and the reliability, but they rarely want the hardware on show. Today we bring you a practical piece of custom installation news that aims straight at that gap: Flexson’s new in-ceiling mount that allows selected Sonos speakers to be installed into the ceiling void and hidden behind a paintable grille for a clean, architectural finish.
We talk through how the mount works in real-world projects: the speaker sits in a purpose-built cradle, the grille comes in round or square designs, and the layout is designed to be serviceable with integrated cable management. Crucially, it can create a fully self-contained Sonos zone without relying on a rack-mounted amplifier and passive in-ceiling speakers, which can be a deal-breaker on retrofits, apartments, smaller rooms, or any job where rack space and home-run cabling simply are not available.
We also cover compatibility across the Sonos S2 platform, including Sonos Era 100, Era 100 Pro, and legacy Sonos 1 and 1 SL speakers for a more budget-friendly option where clients already own kit. The standout workflow is the Era 100 Pro with Power over Ethernet: where Cat 5e or Cat 6 is already present, one cable can deliver both power and audio, cutting first-fix time and reducing the need for electrical call-backs. The mount is available now through CI distribution partners at £149.99 or €159.99.
