The Philadelphia Phillies acquired Luis Arraez from the San Francisco Giants to take over the second base position. Which likely means Bryson Stott moves to third base & Alec Bohm's playing time or time with the Phillies may be coming to an end. Arraez is currently leading MLB in batting average and will be 2nd on the Phillies in OBP currently, only behind Kyle Schwarber. Does this move get the Phillies into true World Series contender mode and appease Bryce Harper & Zack Wheeler & other star veterans? Phillies farm hand Ramon Marquez is on the move to the San Francisco Giants. Relief Pitcher Kaleb Killian is also on the move to the Phillies as a part of the deal.
The Phillies also acquired LHP relief pitcher Brooks Raley from the New York Mets. The Phillies have bolstered their bullpen which needed much help ahead of the 6pm MLB Trade Deadline.
