More than 600 sharks have been spotted off New South Wales in the first month of the state's upgraded shark surveillance program. Surf Life Saving drones have completed over 25,000 flights, detecting an average of 20 sharks per day. The drones currently operate at 96 beaches across NSW, with extended hours planned for September ahead of the summer season.
