Darcy Thompson Talks Doughboys, Edinburgh Fringe, and Bringing History to Life!
Description
Writer, director, and playwright Darcy Thompson joins The Roundtable with Robert Bannon to discuss his hilarious new play, Doughboys. Set during World War I, the farcical comedy follows three women who disguise themselves as men to enlist, leading to outrageous adventures, unexpected friendships, and plenty of laughs along the way. After a sold-out run in New York, the production is now heading to the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where audiences around the world will experience Darcy's unique blend of comedy, heart, and history.
Darcy also shares his journey as a writer and director, the inspiration behind Doughboys, and why he's drawn to stories filled with humor, humanity, and the unexpected. Plus, he reflects on his creative career, from award-winning short films like Jack Turbo and Heartache to creating the fantasy podcast Dragon's Rest, and what's next as he continues building exciting new worlds for audiences on stage and screen.
