What Is An F-150 FP700S?

If you want a new Ford F-150 with over 700 horsepower, the is only one option from the factory: the off-road-focused Raptor R that costs $113,725. But what if you don't need the Raptor's off-road equipment, upgraded interior, and four-door practicality? Ford Custom Garage is the company's in-house customization division, and it has a package for the F-150 that fits this description.

It's called the FP700S, and it's the most affordable way to get a supercharged 700-hp F-150 that's backed by a three-year/36,000-mile warranty. The best part? It's available on any F-150 with the 5.0-liter V8, meaning you can order it on a rear-wheel-drive single cab or a four-wheel-drive SuperCrew, whichever sounds more appealing. Autoblog had a brief opportunity to test both.

How Much Is The Package?

Ford quotes the price of the FP700S package at $26,895 (including installation), and that price can be rolled into your monthly payments. The package comes in Classic, black, and bonze styles and can be applied to an F-150 costing at little as around $39,585 (a V8 XL regular cab RWD). Some basic math tells us you can get into a 700-hp F-150 with a bench seat and rubber floors for just $66,480. There is also a supercharged F-150 Lobo package that only costs $16,995 (plus a $57,065 truck), which would cost $74,060 total.

That seems like a great price for such a powerful truck, especially considering the cheapest Ram 1500 Rumble Bee costs $62,790 with destination and the supercharged SRT model is $97,790. Of course, you can spend a lot more to get a nicer F-150 trim with the package, and the Rumble Bee is a full factory-built model. So what does Ford give you for nearly $27 grand?

The FP700S package's main selling point is the 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, which brings the V8 engine to 700 hp. It also gets a lowering kit, front lip splitter, aero shield delete, 22-inch wheels, Ford Performance rear badging and fenders, a hood and side decals, colored tailgate lettering, and a keychain. Ford recommends you add some tires (Michelin Primacy LTX), which are not included.
