Between Season 1 and Season 2, What’s on Your Riste? takes a loose, loving, slightly legally questionable pause to talk about the side of watch collecting nobody puts in the magazines: the little lies. The package that is “just a strap.” The watch that was “basically a trade.” The grail that will definitely be the last one. Probably.

In this intermission special, Watchovski offers a formal apology to all significant others, introduces the first edition of the Watch-to-English Dictionary, reads letters from the other side of the household, and finds the bigger truth underneath all the collecting comedy: we do not hide these things because we are ashamed of the watch. We hide them because we are a little shy about how much we love something, and how much it costs to love it out loud.
