Episode Details

The SEC and Big Ten may have just changed college sports forever.

In today's episode of Locked On Gamecocks, Chris Marler is joined by Locked On SEC's Chris Gordy to break down the proposed Protect College Sports Act and what it could mean for the future of college football, NIL, the transfer portal, revenue sharing, and South Carolina football.

The guys discuss the proposal's biggest changes, including a potential one-time transfer rule, a possible NIL salary cap, expanded revenue-sharing guidelines, and why the SEC and Big Ten coming together on this legislation is one of the biggest stories of the offseason.

They also explain how the proposed rules could directly impact Shane Beamer, South Carolina's roster-building strategy, recruiting, player retention, and the Gamecocks' future in the ever-changing college football landscape.

Finally, Chris shares his own thoughts on why this proposal could be the first real step toward bringing structure back to college athletics and why South Carolina may actually benefit more than most SEC programs if these changes become law.

If you're a South Carolina fan trying to understand what all of this means, this is the episode you don't want to miss.
