Description
How To Get A Maverick SV300T
Last year, Ford announced a SEMA concept that teased a more powerful Maverick pickup truck. Now, you can actually buy one. The Ford Maverick SV300T is not a new trim level, but rather a combination of parts and tuning upgrades available through the Ford Custom Garage, a division of Ford Racing. Think of it as an in-house tuning division, like Mopar, that lets you bundle parts into your monthly payment when you order your car or after you take delivery.

The SV300T is one of many Custom Garage packages currently available for Ford vehicles, and it's priced at just $5,000 (not including installation or tires). All of these packages are backed by Ford's three-year/36,000-mile warranty. You can order the SV300T package on any 2.0T Maverick from the XL up to the Lobo, though Ford recommends you add the 4K Towing Package for additional cooling.
What Does $5,000 Get You?
Ford Custom Garage is a cool concept because it combines parts you could theoretically buy from the aftermarket with ones Ford supplies from other models. The SV300T, for example, borrows a turbocharger from the EcoBoost Mustang, boosting the Maverick to 300 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque (increases of 50 hp and 70 lb-ft of torque). It also rides on 20-inch wheels from a Mustang Mach-E GT, finishes in black or bronze.

Other visual upgrades include lowering springs, black/bronze tailgate lettering, a front spoiler, graphics package, and Ford Performance badge. To handle the Mustang's turbo, the SV300T adds a high-performance Mishimoto intercooler, Lobo shocks (discounted if you build on a Lobo), a stabalizer bar and bushings, and upgraded brakes for XLT and Lariat models. A Borla cat-back exhaust and ProCal 4 tuning complete the package.
What's It Like To Drive?
Ford's engineers told us they did not have a 0-60 mph time for the Maverick SV300T package, so we found an open stretch of parking lot and mashed the throttle to record a number. The tuned pickup chirped all four tires on its way to 60 in 6.33 seconds, not the quickest time recorded for an EcoBoost Maverick, but we'd like to have another go to achieve a quicker run.
