Clare Gardaí will have a heavy focus on tackling speeding and driving under the influence over this Bank Holiday Weekend. 105 people have lost their lives on Irish Roads this year, with six fatal incidents in Clare, more than the total for all of last year. Clare's Road's Policing Unit will have a highly visible presence until Tuesday, with checkpoints expected to be mounted countywide. Clare Superintendent John Ryan has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that a second's lapse in concentration can be lethal.
