Sometimes we find ourselves alone and in a lot of trouble.
Jacob struggled all night.
The struggle changed who he was.
Afterwards, he realized God had been with him all along.
Yet the story also says he left “limping because of his hip.” — from Genesis 32:31
Some struggles change us for the better.
But they also leave scars.
Even as we celebrate one,
we still need to acknowledge the other.
