Teen summer employment in the United States has fallen to its lowest level in about 80 years, making it increasingly difficult for young people to gain the work experience that has traditionally served as a gateway to adulthood. Employers are hiring fewer teens for various reasons. In this episode I discuss some of those reasons and offer suggestions for teens looking to work during the summer.
