“Red-tape” work requirement risks booting thousands from BadgerCare

Wisconsin’s Medicaid program, known as BadgerCare, is the largest health insurer in the state and provides coverage to over 1.2 million low-income or disabled residents. But a new federal work requirement could put that coverage at risk for tens of thousands of Wisconsinites.
State health officials urged BadgerCare recipients on Thursday to stay informed and plan ahead before the requirement goes into effect.
