A solo trip into the mountains of North Carolina turns terrifying when Marlin ignores one of her grandmother’s oldest warnings: never whistle in the Appalachian woods. After witnessing an animal behave unnaturally, she returns to her isolated cabin and begins hearing familiar voices outside, even though no one knows where she is. Soon, something appears at the window, watching and waiting for an invitation inside.

This fictional Appalachian horror story draws inspiration from regional ghost tales, mountain superstitions, mimic legends, and viral Appalachian rules such as avoiding whistles after dark, trusting sudden feelings of danger, and never answering a voice calling from the forest.
