Hey Carpool Crew,

A new year is almost here, and everybody's thinking about being smart and doing well. But there's one skill that makes a kid better at almost everything, and hardly anybody talks about it: listening. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin opens James 1:19, where God says everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Notice the order. Quick to listen comes first. When a kid really listens, people feel loved, friends trust them more, and they even hear God better, because hearing Him starts with getting quiet and paying attention.

This Thursday episode hands kids three things to try this week: set down whatever's in your hands and listen all the way to the end, whisper a quick morning prayer to be quick to listen, and ask the heart question, am I waiting for my turn to talk, or am I really hearing people? About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together.

Today's One Thing: Being quick to listen is a superpower God wants to grow in you.
