GoMining, the Bitcoin ecosystem serving 5 million users and ranking among the top-10 Bitcoin miners by hashrate, has integrated Uphold's Platform-as-a-Service to run onboarding, KYC/AML compliance, fraud controls, custody and liquidity behind its own branded interface, initially for US users.
The strategic logic is speed: building the features and acquiring the licenses in-house would have taken several years, while an API integration puts GoMining inside Uphold's regulatory perimeter, FinCEN and US state regulators, FCA registration in the UK, and the Bank of Portugal in the EU, in a fraction of the time.
Every GoMining transaction will be polled across Uphold's 30-plus centralized and decentralized trading venues, bringing institutional-grade execution and pricing to a retail mining audience.
The deal is a clean read on where crypto consumer apps are heading: keep the customer relationship and the brand, rent the regulated machinery, and ship features at fintech speed rather than licensing speed.
