Description

NYC alto saxophonist Connor Sobieri drops his haunting new single “Lost Ones,” the first taste of his genre-bending debut album “First Steps,” arriving October 21. Blending jazz with rock, R&B, and hip-hop, he calls it “Existential Jazz-Rock”—a sound forged over five years, including while recovering from surgery in 2022, during which he couldn’t play his sax for six months. The album, recorded in just two days after two years of live development at NYC’s NuBlu, is deeply personal and infused with his battle with Crohn’s disease. To honor that journey, 10% of proceeds from the limited-edition 18-gram vinyl will go to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. This is more than an album—it’s a raw, resilient, and genre-defying statement from a young artist refusing to be defined.
