The Future of AI Belongs to Businesses That Solve Real Problems
Description
In this episode of the Kanawha Valley Hustlers podcast, I look at where the real value of AI may come from. Most people are focused on which model is the smartest, fastest, or most capable. I think that focus misses the larger opportunity.
History shows that the biggest rewards often go to the people who apply new technology, not the companies that build the foundation. Personal computers created value, but software turned them into tools people could use. Electricity powered the grid, but appliances changed daily life. Railroads moved goods, but companies like Sears used that network to build new markets. The internet followed the same pattern through companies such as Google, Netflix, and Facebook.
AI may work the same way. The winning model today may not be the winning model tomorrow. Open-source systems may also challenge companies spending billions to build them. That makes it risky to build your whole strategy around one platform.
I encourage business owners to focus on customer outcomes instead. Look at your workflow, find the gaps, and use AI to remove bottlenecks. Tools like Fathom show how this can work by recording meetings, organizing notes, and helping people find decisions without reviewing hours of footage.
AI does not need to replace your team or handle every task. It needs to help you deliver more value, serve more people, and improve the work you already do.
