Illinois sees 16% drop in SNAP enrollment 1 year after food program overhaul

Description
The number of Illinois residents enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – or SNAP – has declined by 16% over the past year.
That’s according to data from the Illinois Department of Human Services.
It comes following expanded work rules and other restrictions that were pushed by the Trump Administration last summer.
