Episode Details

This podcast is made by Ran Chen, who holds an EA license, Insurance and Securities licenses (Series 6, 63, 65), and the CFP® designation. He is passionate about opening access to high-quality exam preparation resources and helping learners prepare more effectively for professional certification exams. In this episode you will learn: - The AFOQT is the mandatory standardized test for all active duty enlisted members pursuing a commission through OTS, LEAD, or ASCP. - For Officer Training School (OTS), your AFOQT score is a critical differentiator in a competitive selection process where strong enlisted performance is the norm. - The LEAD program uses the AFOQT as an initial screening tool to assess your potential to handle the U.S. Air Force Academy's demanding academic environment. - The Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program (ASCP) heavily weighs your AFOQT results as part of the academic scholarship application through AFROTC. - A common pitfall is underestimating the AFOQT; it tests different skills than the ASVAB, and high job performance alone will not compensate for a poor score.
