Description
Today we’re travelling to the fascinating world of modern art through the life of one of its most influential champions—Peggy Guggenheim. My guest is Charlie Hall, a passionate arts educator, lecturer and guide based in London and Italy. Charlie is Director of the renowned John Hall Venice Course, established in 1965, and has spent years helping travellers, students and art lovers discover the rich cultural treasures of Italy. He has lectured for Kirker Holidays, designed courses for Christie’s Education, and presented art talks for Soho House and the Serpentine Gallery. Charlie has a gift for making art accessible and bringing extraordinary people to life through their stories. Today, he’ll introduce us to Peggy Guggenheim—a woman who transformed the world of modern art. She once described herself by writing, “I am a museum,” and her remarkable life took her from London to wartime Paris, New York and finally Venice, where her extraordinary collection continues to inspire visitors from around the globe.
